We would like to thank Maurice Byrne for the wonderful song Day By Day now available on iTunes: http://maurbyrne.com/Itunes.html

Ó Lá Go Lá want to extend a very warm thank you to Dublin Ink for their time and effort in hosting the suicide awareness tattoo event on 29 February. We would also like to thank Áine Libreri for doing an amazing job at organising it, Geppetto for creating a really inspiring video, all of the performers on the day and finally all of the members and supporters of the event.

Of the money made, €600 went back to Dublin Ink for costs associated with the event and over €6800 was donated to Ó Lá Go Lá. This money will be used to improve our website, our private messaging system and promoting mental health. Our admin and management team will continue to give their time freely so this money will go entirely towards bettering the service we offer and awareness of issues such as depression, suicide, eating disorders, self harm and abuse.

Support provided...

The support we offer is not advice, therapy or counselling and it is not intended to replace any of the above. We actively encourage our service users to seek professional help and support when needed.

What we do offer is instant support through the web to a person who may be experiencing something in their life which they may be finding difficult to cope with. Our service is a stepping stone and holding place for the individual until they are ready to reach out and have the necessary provisions for professional help and support put into place.

In Ireland 527 people died by Suicide in 2009

There was a 43% increase in Suicide in the first 1/4 of 2010

These people NEEDED more immediate support

We welcome you to Ó Lá Go Lá to share in our vision to provide this support and prevent suicides

We would like to thank our friends in Facebook for their ongoing provision of our help and support page Help Reduce Suicide, Depression & Stress Related Illnesses in Young Adults.
